A cherry flavoured vitamin and amino acid supplement containing all the essential B group vitamins, vitamin A, vitamin C and the essential amino acids lysine and methionine.

The B group Vitamins are essential for the efficient conversion of muscular glycogen to ATP. They are synthesized by the micro-organisms in the large intestine, at levels that generally meet daily requirements. However when horses are in training, these requirements increase significantly- added to this – the digestion of high grain diets leads to a decrease in B vitamins production due to a fall in the pH in the large intestine. Consequently supplementation of B group vitamins is necessary for horses in training and on high grain diets.

Because of their water solubility, B vitamins cannot be stored in the body therefore supplementation needs to be on a daily basis. Equine Vitamin Supplement contains all the essential B group vitamins plus vitamins A and C at levels to meet the daily demands of training.

Vitamin A is not manufactured in the horse so must be available in the diet. It is necessary for all growth processes, important in reproductive performance, also necessary for antibodies and resistance to diseases.

Vitamin C plays an important role in the maintenance of a competent immune system and in the formulation of collagen, an important component of cartilage and tendons.

Lysine and methionine are important essential amino acids, the definition essential means they cannot be synthesized by the body.
